The Last Man on Earth
From MGM's Archives: Rare Print of Seminal Vincent Price Vampire Film
Wed February 4
2009, 7:00 & 9:00

Vincent Price animated this 1964 film, the original adaptation of a Richard Matheson story ("I Am Legend") of a lone survivor of a plague that has turned the rest of the human race into vampires. Rome is the filming location, amusingly standing in for San Francisco in this Italian coproduction originally titled The Damned Walk at Midnight. It remains on sci-fi and horror fans' lists for its early grapplings with themes now universal in these genres, and for high production values, particularly the black-and-white Cinemascope work of Franco Delli Colli.
