Join us as we screen a 35mm print recently discovered in our archives. This is a rather hidden film from the mid-90s by a Taiwanese director whose newest film is featured in our Albertine Cinematheque festival earlier in the calendar. It is a visually visceral film that is part of a loose trilogy that affectionately would be referred to as “The Vietnam Trilogy.” It’s violent, to the point that it was banned in its home country do to being so violent and “unrealistic,” despite having the government cooperative during production.

This is a rare opportunity to see a film seemingly lost to American audiences, even though it is from a well-known director and has a very well-known lead as the title character. Don’t miss it!
